Low-power, Fanless anel PC with 15-inch TFT LCD

Arbor Technology Corp. today announced the arrival of its P1506 low-power panel PC with 15-inch TFT LCD to meet today? fast-paced applications. No fans are needed if it is run by the embedded Intel low-power Celeron 400MHz CPU. On the contrary, three fans are a must if operated by the embedded Intel low-power Pentium 3 Tualatin 800MHz CPU. Whatever CPU you use, the P1506 is sure to meet whatever job requirements you may need.
[With IEEE 1394 Interface]
The IEEE 1394 interface so far only employed by Arbor is a high-speed connection that revolutionizes the transport of digital data for computers and for professional and consumer electronics products. By providing an inexpensive non-proprietary high-speed method of interconnecting digital devices, the IEEE 1394 is a truly universal I/O connection. Its scalable architecture and flexible peer-to-peer topology make 1394 ideal for connecting devices from computers and hard drives to digital audio and video hardware.

Besides the IEEE-1394 interface, the model comes standard with a USB V2.0 interface, a type I or type II compact flash, an optional PCMCIA slot for wireless LAN, and so forth. To save time and cost, it comes with the wireless ETX form factor CPU which can be immediately embedded on a carrier board. As for touch screen, the 3M 15-inch resistive type is utilized.

The P1506 can be installed into all kinds of work environments and applications. It can be wall mounted, panel mounted, or simply placed on a desktop with an optional swing arm based on different application needs. The P1506 is compliant with NEMA 4/12 and IP65 standards. This industrial-grade quality ensures this panel computer to withstand more severe environmental extremes, such as dusk, water, temperature and vibration.

The P1506 can be used for various purposes, such as industrial control, medical facilities, transaction terminals, transportation, and gaming and entertainment. To break down into more detailed applications, data collection and analysis, wireless data transmission, process monitoring, instruction/code entry, and operator interface can be smoothly carried out under the industrial control. Medically speaking, healthcare checkups, radiology and image processing are a must for careful monitoring. As for transaction terminal, KIOSK, POS, POI, home security system, ATM system and voting machine are best installed for easy access to these essential services. Transportation can be further upgraded with the installation of the P1506 for use in conventional public phones, voice and image services, on-line transaction and payment and railroad security system. And for gaming and entertainment, the P1506 is definitely the best match for casino machines, lottery machines and home AV systems.
